Zach Ellis-Hayden becomes the sixth Fresno FC player to be chosen to USL Team of the Week

FRESNO - Defender Zach Ellis-Hayden is the sixth Foxes' player chosen to the USL's Team of the Week after his performance Saturday helped Fresno FC to a 2-0 victory over Sacramento Republic FC in Week 16.

The 26-year-old right back recorded eight tackles and won 17 of 20 duels while also providing the assist on Franck Tayou's late insurance goal.

Ellis-Hayden, who was hindered by injuries during the start of the season, has made immediate impacts when he's in the starting XI. In seven starts this season, Ellis-Hayden has produced a team-best four assists along with eight chances created down the right wing.

He is the sixth Fox to be named to the USL Team of the Week. Earlier this month, goalkeeper Kyle Reynish and midfielder Jemal Johnson earned the honor. Left back Alex Cooper earned the honor in Week 2, midfielder Juan Pablo Caffa earned the honor in Week 3 and center back Ramon Martin Del Campo got the nod in Week 4.

The Foxes are on the road this week, playing at Portland Timbers 2 on Sunday. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. The match will be televised on CW 59.

Fans can catch Ellis-Hayden and the Foxes back at home on Saturday, July 14 when they host Phoenix Rising FC at Chukchansi Park. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at tickets.fresnofc.com or the stadium box office.
