FRESNO, Calif. — Fresno Football Club has added to its back line with the signings of defenders Ramon Martin Del Campo and Bradley Kamdem Fewo, pending league and federation approval. Del Campo, 24, joins Los Zorros from Ottawa Fury FC, where he played the 2017 USL season. The 23-year-old Kamdem Fewo played the last two seasons with Rochester Rhinos.

“I’m delighted to add to our defense with Ramon [Martin Del Campo] and Bradley [Kamdem Fewo]. With the two of them, we’ve put the last defensive pieces of the puzzle together and we’re excited to bring them on and get the season going,” said Fresno FC head coach Adam Smith.

“Ramon is an excellent defender, and will provide great organizational skills from the back. Bradley is an exciting attacking-minded defender. He not only will provide additional strength in the back four, but also look to support forward players and provide that width in the attack,” Smith added.

Del Campo started 23 of 24 appearances in 2017 for Ottawa Fury FC, leading the club in clearances and blocks with 112 and 21, respectively. The defender’s 45 interceptions were fourth-most for the club and, offensively, he scored two goals and provided two assists. He was named to the USL’s Team of the Week twice, earning the nod in Week 7 and Week 23.

Born in Mexico, but raised in California, Del Campo played collegiately at UC Davis. In 2013, he was called into the United States’ U-23 national team training camp, and played in one match against Bahamas. In the summer of 2014, he joined the San Jose Earthquakes’ Premier Development League side. He helped the club to a 7-4-3 record and was one of three finalists for the PDL’s Young Player of the Year Award. He signed a two-year contract with Costa Rican soccer club Deportivo Saprissa and during his final year at Deportivo Saprissa, he was loaned to the NASL’s Puerto Rico FC. He played 16 matches for Puerto Rico FC, and was named to the NASL’s Team of the Week for Week 15.

A native of Paris, France, Kamdem Fewo has appeared in 50 matches including 37 starts for the Rhinos over the last two seasons. He made 24 appearances last season, logging 1,725 minutes and converting 84.6 percent of his tackles to go with one goal.

Kamdem Fewo was a third-round pick (58th overall) in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft by Colorado Rapids, but never signed with the club, instead joining the Rochester Rhinos. He lettered two years at UNLV, making 55 starts and scoring four goals and nine assists from the back.

The signings of Del Campo and Kamdem Fewo increase Los Zorros’ roster to 20 players for the 2018 USL season. Also on the roster are Pedro Ribeiro, Danny Barrera, Renato Bustamante, Jose Cuevas, Agustin Rey, Jemal Johnson, Rony Argueta, Agustin Cazarez, Mickey Daly, Christian Chaney, Matthew Baldisimo, Sam Strong, Sean Melvin, Terran Campbell, Zachary Ellis-Hayden, Lamin Suma, Juan Pablo Caffa and Alejandro Covarrubias.
